We had a great stay from the first minute when checked in, the personnel at the reception decided to upgrade to a better room on the sixth floor of the hotel. 

At the InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa, they have very sweet staff, super attentive and courteous. Pools and beach are amazing, the water of the sea is so clean and transparent that you can see the small fish swimming. 

At InterContinental, athletes will not be unhappy, they have tennis courts, a beautiful gym, a beach volleyball court, and a paddle court 

For dining, guests have a choice of seven restaurants and for those who arrive by cars there is a complimentary parking is available at InterContinental Hotels Doha Beach & Spa for hotel guests. 

Overall, a fantastic stay.

Hoi An restaurant in Doha offers us an authentic taste of Vietnamese food in the peninsula of Qatar. It is the feeling of “seeing the cool Hoai River as if drifting through the middle of the desert” 

Their “Banh Cuon” is refined and delicious, the famous soup, Pho is more designed for Qatari palates. For us, the soup lacks flavors, and fragrances and the Bo Bun Nam Bo is very good, the vermicelli is perfectly cooked, and the meat is well grilled and marinated as it should be. 

We were impressed with the traditional flavors and attention to detail in every dish, the owner and his staff are from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), they know their cooking. 

For the drink, we had a traditional Vietnamese’s ice coffee which was prepared according to the rules of the art. 

Besides, good food and drink, the owner and his staff were incredible nice, hospitable and warm, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel like we were actually in Vietnam. 

We highly recommend to our readers seeking a very good Vietnamese experience.

La Mar at the IHG Doha Beach & Resort is franchise restaurant by the famous Peruvian chef, Gaston Acurio The entrance of La Mar is quite impressive with its large wooden door. the look inside is sleek, modern and design with an incredible glass wine cellar. 

We step out of the glass doors into a stunning outdoor area. Opening out onto the beach, the views are some of the most romantic in Doha. Seats are plentiful on the waterfront and in the main dining area, offering you a choice of looking at some cooking or the city. 

Now, how about the cooking at La Mar? We sample a ceviche called Barrunto with catch of the day, shrimp, razor clams and mussels in rocoto leche de Tigre, cancha, choclo, and sweet potatoes which is at the same time refreshing and tasty. For mains, we try the empanada de lomo saltado which is perfectly crispy, juicy, and spicy. Wagyu mini burgers are succulent beef tenderloin is plated on a bed of fresh onions, tomatoes, and lightly fried potatoes. The prawns anticuchera grilled shrimps, chimichurri potatoes, chalaquita, buttered corn & rocoto cream are succulent. The desserts, Pionono and Torta de chocolate we had were simply delicious, 

The drinks at La Mar are impressive with nice proposal of wines and in-house cocktail and mocktails. 

The service is efficient, kind and smiling. 

La Mar is probably one the best places to have dinner with a nice view in Doha right now.

Iodé Sushi, un nouveau sushiya localisé au 127, rue Saint Dominique, Paris 7ème. Une adresse discrète, on pourrait passer devant le restaurant sans y faire attention s'il n'y a pas le nom en néon bleu qui s'allume.

L'endroit est sobre et intimiste comme les suhsiyas à Tokyo, car il y a seulement 8 places au comptoir plus une table pour quatre personnes au fond juste en face des toilettes.

Pour notre déjeuner, nous étions quatre et du coup, nous sommes obligés de s'asseoir sur la tablette quatre et noyau comptoir.

Le menu de 38 euros pour une soupe miso, six sushis et deux temakis sans dessert n'est pas donné.

Le chef Jun Yoshikawa nous indiquait que les poissons proviennent du port de pêche de Guilvinec en Bretagne.

L'experience nous a laissé un petit goût amère car les sushis et temakis étaient bons mais sans être extraordinaires, mais surtout le prix grimpe très vites avec les boissons et les desserts.

On reviendra pour tester le menu "Omakase" du chef pour avoir une idée définitif sur son talent et son savoir-faire.

On Sunday April 30, 2023, we took our first Qatar Airways flight from Paris to Doha. Our flight was QR42 on the Boeing 777-300 ER which is not our favorite airplane at all. Here is our review :

Checking : the checking for the economy class was smooth and easy 

Flight : The flight QR42 was on time and the boarding was well organized and fluid

Seat and Overhead : The seats were comfortable and the overhead compartments were quite large and deep

Entertainment : Entertainment was average compare to Emirates or Singapore Airlines, it did not have any Asian films 

Food : the food proposition was good and tasty and the service was quite quick and efficient.

Flight Attendants : The flight attendants were nice, smiling and helpful

We arrived in Doha thirty minutes before scheduled and our flight (Q32) back to Paris was the same, on time and smooth.

Overall, we appreciated our flights, but is it the best airlines in the world? For us, Singapore Airlines and Emirates are one rank above Qatar Airways.
