We started our culinary tour in Vietnam at Son Trà Retreat Garden Lounge which is 15 minutes by car from the center of Dà Nang and it is located right at the beginning of Son Trà peninsula in a residential area. 

Son Trà Retreat is a place you can unwind to enjoy some tailor-made cocktails and delicious fusion Vietnamese food. 

The decoration is quite design and elegant, with a beautiful garden lounge, a ground floor where we had our table and the first floor. It is a perfect place for a family dining but also for a romantic outing. 

Each dish that we ordered were delicious, tasty, well prepared and presented. They even served one of the best and most ionic dessert, the famous “Fondant au Chocolat” invented by Michel Bras. 

They have a nice wines list and a range of incredible cocktails 

The service was genuinely nice, and the staff spoke good English. 

Son Trà Retreat is one of the best addresses to chills down and have good time in Dà Nang.

Premier Village Resort in Danang has a beautiful setting like Alma Resort in Cam Ranh.

The resort was designed like a small village, 111 modern and beautifully appointed villas in three different styles: garden view, ocean access and beachfront residences.

Each villa has been designed to meet the needs of families with an emphasis on luxury, comfort and space for bedrooms, as well as restaurants and living areas. Our two bedrooms garden view villa with private pool was huge but unfortunately, It had not been renovated for a while as did certains villas in the resort. Our private pool area looked and felt neglected and ruined down.

Our two bedrooms needed a refresh in terms of decoration and design. The Lemongrass restaurant where we took our breakfast also needed a refresh and redesign to make it more modern. The food offers were good but not up to a five standard resort. The positive points at the resort was the free bikes available for guests to go around and the competent staff.

Our biggest and most delightful surprise of our trip in Vietnam was the Sherwood Suites Hotel in Saigon. 

Sherwood Suites has everything that demanding guests like us requested. They have competent, kind, and helpful staff. 

Their location in the heart of Saigon, their suites are grandiose, and their facilities are simply wonderful with big and long swimming pool, a nice jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath, a modern fitness center, a game room with a beautiful baby foot and pool table and cool kids’ playground. 

The breakfast at le Café should have a better offering in terms of choices and varieties of food. 

We will book again at Sherwood Suites Hotel when we will travel back in Saigon.Sherwood.

Alma Resort has a beautiful setting in Cam Ranh area. The resort has everything that a modern should have, a splash water park, a first-class mini golf, 

stunning swimming pools, a kids club, a youth center, a shopping mart, a spa, four restaurants and bars, and finally incredible ocean’s view suites and pavilions. 

But our experience at Alma resort on Christmas times were disappointing for many reasons. The first reason, we found the staff were poorly trained and managed, only a few of them spoke good English, fortunately for us that we spoke Vietnamese. The second one is that the food at Alma Garden were not up to the standard of a five stars resort. The third reason was the breakfast time at the Alma Garden was closed by 10:00 A.M. and if guests arrive after ten, they will find the door closed. Finally, the cleaners of our rooms were very hasty to clean up and forgot to refill the Shampooing bottles in our bathrooms. 

Our most disappointing experience was at Xmas'eve for the Christmas Buffet Dinner which cost 40 Euros per person, but the food served was the same food served at breakfast. We talk to the F&B manager about this remark and told him he should try to have a better offer for Christmas time than the usual stuff that we ate every morning. He did not seem to understand my disappointment. He was convinced that his culinary offer corresponded to customer demand.

Next time, we will reserve a real five stars resort with a five-star services and offers in Cam Ranh.

Holiday Inn Resort at Hô Tram beach is stunning, it is bright , extremely impeccably design 

and classy with all the comfort that a five stars resort should have. It features great outdoor pool and pristine beach.

it has recreational area for kids and of course a top spa and a world class golf course, but that not it, 

it has also a cinema , a game arcade with bowling alley and a disco dancing club. Holiday Inn resort belongs 

to Intercontinental Hotel Group which has also next door the Grand Ho Trâm Strip which is more bling bling and tacky than Holiday Inn Resort. 

The hotel has many restaurants, but unfortunately, only two were opened at the period we stayed; the Grand Food Court and Lemongrass where we also had breakfast during our stay. 

The food at both places were fairly good and tasty, they offered real Vietnamese cooking. 

 For the well-being, we went to the Grand Spa which was the best spa we went to during our two weeks trip. 

For entertainment, we watched the World Cup Final at the Fuel Sport Bar and went to see Avatar 2 at the Beta cinema theater inside the resort. 

The personnel were all nice, friendly, helpful, and professional 

It was by far our best resort we had stayed for the past few years. The others resort in Vietnam should take the example of Holidays Inn Resort in Hô Tram.
