Casa Maera
Our Seville food tour begins with lunch in a residential area in Léon, in a restaurant called Casa Maera, the house founded by Antonio Marea and now run by his daughter.
This restaurant is off the radar of ordinary tourists. It was advised to us by a Sevillian acquaintance.
Casa Maera has an intimate and family orientated atmosphere Their cooking is based on fish and seafood, and stews. They use kindness and good service to attract their guests.
Fresh fish with dishes that are rather unusual in the city, such as chickpeas with prawns, squid meatballs, scrambled egg with cod, pine nut and blood sausage croquettes.
Our lunch was simple, good, and generous, like the owner who, with a big smile, recommended tasty dishes and good wines to us.
The total cost for this generous lunch for six with six beers and two bottles of wines were 24 Euros per person.
